Biography
Appointed Freeholder-at-Large in January 1993. Elected to
the Board of Freeholders in November, 1993 and re-elected
in 1996, 1999 and 2003. Elected Chairman of the Board of
Freeholders in 2004 and 2005. Served as Mayor of Egg Harbor
City for four (4) years and Councilman of Egg Harbor City
for four (4) years. Chairman of Egg Harbor City Salvation
Army. Atlantic County representative to the South Jersey
Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) and the South
Jersey Economic Development District (SJEDD). Member, Atlantic
County Mainland Chamber of Commerce, Egg Harbor City Knights
of Columbus and South Jersey Field of Dreams. Also member
of the Galloway Township Lions Club and UNICO National.
Former Chairman of the Egg Harbor City Planning Board (2
years) and member for six years. Parishioner of St. Nicholas
Roman Catholic Church, Egg Harbor City. Profession: President
of American Auto Salvage and Recycling in Mays Landing.
Resident: Egg Harbor City. Wife: Kathy. Two Children: Lori
Winterbottom and Joseph Silipena, Jr. (Deceased). Grandchildren:
Jessica and Christine.
